Thursday – Raul Midón’s Homecoming
Described by The New York Times as “a one-man band who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus,” singer and songwriter Raul Midón returns to his alma mater for a solo appearance, starting at 7:30pm at Gusman Concert Hall. This Weekend – Miami International Children’s Film Festival
MICFF returns this November in partnership with the prestigious New York International Children’s Film Festival. Nov 8 – Hildegard of Bingen – Ordo Virtutum
Seraphic Fire performs at Saint Philip’s Church, starting at 7:30pm. Hildegard of Bingen’s music has echoed over centuries since she put them down on paper. Universally revered as one of the greatest minds of the Middle Ages, Hildegard was the very definition of Medieval Mystic. Her Ordo Virtutum features a cast including Mercy, Victory, Patience, Discretion and Charity. Nov 9 – Ramble at Fairchild
The Ramble is a huge plant sale of Fairchild-grown plants from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Find plants from vendors offering edible plants for your own fall garden, ornamentals, orchids, succulents, exotics and more. t the KidWay, engage with Fairchild educators and see science in action while enjoying botanical carnival-style games and face painting. Thursday, Nov 14 – The Mystery Of Edwin Drood at the Ring
Based on the book, music and lyrics by Rupert Holmes, this hilarious musical whodunit — winner of the Tony Award in 1986 for Best Musical — is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ famous unfinished novel. Taking audience participation to new heights, you directly affect the play’s outcome by voting for whomever you think murdered the unfortunate young Edwin Drood. Nov 23 – World Premiere – Watson at GableStage
Based on the life of IBM founder Thomas J. Watson, Sr., this is the story of the Nazi’s use of IBM’s pre-computer technology and the world’s first “personal information” catastrophe — the systematic identification of Jews.
