That cool weather is a welcome addition to our delightful Fall season. That’s the signal to get out and enjoy the good life in our little city.

Mitch Kaplan – Hollywood Movie Producer
Kudos to our own favorite bookseller in Coral Gables. Mitch Kaplan has been wheeling and dealing, learning the ropes of Hollywood, as he strives to bring a roster of beloved books to the screen. The Man Who Invented Christmas, based on the book of the same name by Les Standiford, is the first of what we hope will be a long line of engaging new films that will have taken their life and inspiration from a book. It’s produced by the Mazur Kaplan Company, a production company founded by Mitchell Kaplan and his partner Paula Mazur in 2006. Together, with the support of Marvin and Isa Leibowitz, they have selectively optioned an extensive roster of wonderful books that are now in various stages of development and production in Hollywood and will soon come to life on both the small and big screen. Burgerliscious at Ponce Circle
The annual celebration of the hamburger takes place at Fred B. Hartnett Ponce Circle Park Thursday, November 2 from 6 to 10pm, sponsored by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. Behold this beaucoup burger binge with outstanding samples from many fine establishments, along with good drinks. Tickets are $60, or $125 VIP. http://www.burgerliscious.com/
