Prohibition Repeal Party - Coral Gables Woman's Club
Thursday – Prohibition Repeal Party Speakeasy
Get ready to party like it’s 1933 at the historic Coral Gables Woman’s Club to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition on December 5, 1933 with a speakeasy atmosphere. Enjoy complimentary beer, wine and prohibition punch with catered appetizers and delicious desserts, plus an assortment of fine spirits at the luxury tasting bar. Celebrate the repeal of the 19th amendment and the end of prohibition with a Champagne toast.

Friday – Tree Lighting at City Hall
This family friendly event marks the beginning of the Holiday Season in the City of Coral Gables. Everyone is invited to our Holiday Spectacular on Friday, December 6, from 5 to 10pm in front of City Hall. Santa will arrive on a Fire truck to light up the tree at 7pm followed by live entertainment, food, photos with Santa, carnival rides and games, bounce house, arts and crafts and more.

Saturday – Villagers’ Holiday Tour – Inside Out – A South Florida Lifestyle
Make plans to attend the annual Holiday House Tour presented by The Villager’s historical association from 10am to 3pm, featuring five distinctive homes — one each from the 50s, 60s, and 80s — all renovated to accommodate today’s lifestyle, as well as two contemporary custom-built homes.

Enjoy the incomparable voices of Seraphic Fire resounding in carols, ancient and modern, in this new Christmas program starting at 7:30pm at First United Methodist. Seraphic Fire explores the songs of the angels, including Gregorian chant, Renaissance motets, English carols and the traditional singing of Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, and Jesus Christ, the Apple Tree. For over a decade, Seraphic Fire’s Christmas concerts have been a South Florida tradition.

The Man Who Invented Christmas
Dec 17 – The Man Who Invented Christmas
The magical journey that led to the creation of Ebenezer Scrooge (the indomitable Christopher Plummer), Tiny Tim and all the classic characters from A Christmas Carol, receives an elegantly appointed update courtesy of executive producer (Miami’s own) Mitchell Kaplan. Directed by Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), The Man Who Invented Christmas shows how Charles Dickens (Dan Stevens, the beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast) mixed real-life inspirations with his vivid imagination to conjure a timeless tale, forever changing the holiday season into the celebration we know today.
