Talavera Cocina Mexicana
An authentic reflection of the modern cuisine of Mexico City, Talavera Cocina presents a range of old classics and updated expressions. The name refers to the traditional clay pots used in the Mexican kitchen. Start with cocktails from the well-stocked bar emphasizing seasonal ingredients -- and the best chips and salsa around. The tapas are delightful, including guacamole, ceviche and queso fundido. The classic tortilla soup is a readers' favorite. Coral Gables' Holiday Park Hours
With schools closed for the winter break, kids can unwind and enjoy much-needed playtime at Holiday Park, across from City Hall. The park will be open seven days a week from 10am to 10pm through Sunday, January 3rd. Entrance is free with limited capacity. Temperature screenings will be conducted prior to entering the park. Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre and producer Hunter Arnold present a special filmed version of Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday classic A Christmas Carol starring one of the finest stage actors of our time, Tony winner Jefferson Mays. In this workshop, we are going to look at the process behind creating a comic page. We will focus on how to break down an idea for a comic into a visual script, and to make it easy and fun to read by using different types of panels, shots, and perspectives. Actors' Playhouse Winter Conservatory
From January 23 to March 8, kids from 5 to 18 years old can participate in the acting classes taught at Miracle Theatre. Let’s Make Believe (Ages 5-8); Musical Theatre (Ages 6-12); Lights, Camera, Action (Ages 8-12); and Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop (Ages 10-18) are held on Saturdays. On Mondays, adult classes at Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Levels are offered. Private Audition Coaching with Actors’ Playhouse Artistic Director David Arisco is offered by appointment.
