Greetings,
Tuesday, May 25 is National Missing Children's Day. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children raises awareness of the threat of child abduction, reminding families to keep their children safe and support victims' families.
Memorial Day takes place on Monday, May 31, a time for gathering with family and friends. It is traditional to fly the flag of the United States at half staff from dawn until noon. The City of Coral Gables will host a 9am Memorial Day Remembrance event at the War Memorial Youth Center featuring the Honor Guard’s Changing of the Colors, poem readings, and a name reading of our fallen soldiers followed by light refreshments.
The annual Belmont Stakes (The Run for the Carnations) takes place on Saturday, June 5 in Elmont, NY.
Sunday, June 6 is D-Day, celebrating and memorializing soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, to fight Nazi soldiers on June 6, 1944.
Make plans to enjoy the great outdoors in our little city. Walk down Miracle Mile, visit the parks. Stay safe, and enjoy the best of Coral Gables in the coming days.
