Greetings {name},
Thursday, November 25 is Thanksgiving Day, a time for people in the US to give thanks for what they have. It's an American tradition for families to gather for a celebratory meal centered around a roast turkey. Enjoy the long holiday weekend.
Friday, November 26 is known as Black Friday, a traditional time to take trips and visit with family, friends and neighbors, but in the past few decades, it's become a day of heavily discounted shopping and the beginning of holiday season sales events.
It's also American Indian Heritage Day, or Native American Heritage Day, celebrated with activities, programs, and ceremonies that promote the historical and present day status of Native Americans and the Native American tribal governments.
On Sunday, November 28, Christians observe the First Sunday of Advent with special prayers and contributing to ideas on enhancing peace, and the first day of the traditional advent calendar.
As always, make plans to enjoy the great outdoors in our little city. Walk down Miracle Mile, experience the live theatre and the best movies, browse the book stores, look into the art galleries and meet up with friends at the restaurants. Visit the parks and public spaces to appreciate the bounties of nature.
Enjoy the best of Coral Gables in the coming days.

Orchestra Miami Family Concert - Vivaldi’s Ring of Mystery
Orchestra Miami presents Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery, a theatrical concert about the life and music of Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi. Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery is a compelling mystery about an orphan girl in the early 1700s who is in search of her roots. A central clue to the mystery is a missing Stradivarius violin that the Duke of Cremona has brought to Vivaldi’s school of the Pietá in the hopes of finding his long-lost grandchild. The music is magically woven into the drama as two actors solve a mystery built around the historic context of the composer’s real life and his school of the Pietá. Juice and cookies served after the performance. Tickets start at just $8 for kids, $12 for seniors (65 & up); $15 for Adults. This concert is the first of four in Orchestra Miami's Family Fun Series at Pinecrest Gardens. Call 305-274-2103. https://www.orchestramiami.org/ |

Bob Dylan - Don't Look Back
Bob Dylan is captured on-screen as he never would be again in this groundbreaking film from D. A. Pennebaker. The legendary documentarian finds Dylan in England during his 1965 tour, which would be his last as an acoustic artist. In this wildly entertaining vision of one of the twentieth century’s greatest artists, Dylan is surrounded by teen fans, gets into heated philosophical jousts with journalists, and kicks back with fellow musicians Joan Baez, Donovan, and Alan Price. In anticipation of the opening of Retrospectrum: Bob Dylan at the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, Coral Gables Art Cinema presents a post-screening conversation with Richard Thomas, Harvard professor and author of Why Bob Dylan Matters. Thomas' book will be signed by the author and available for purchase following the conversation. https://www.gablescinema.com/events/dont-look-back/ |
