Big Vote Thursday - Prevent Urban Sprawl
What Does "Hold The Line" Mean?
The Urban Development Boundary is a long-term planning tool used to help discourage sprawl and encourage infill development. Holding the Line, or the UDB, encourages development close to existing houses and businesses, where roads, transit lines, schools, and other government services already exist. Maintain the current growth boundary until existing infrastructure needs are funded and completed. By Holding The Line, we protect our water supply, local farms that supply food, and create resilience by preserving the Everglades and Biscayne Bay. https://holdthelinecoalition.org |

Spin Me Round
It sounds like the adventure of a lifetime: an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy, where a lucky few managers from an American fast-casual restaurant chain will get a crash course in the culinary arts against the backdrop of a scenic villa. Unfortunately, the getaway doesn’t always match the brochure, and Amber (Alison Brie) soon finds herself juggling mundane training exercises, an unexpected love triangle, and maybe an insidious conspiracy during her sojourn. Coral Gables native Jeff Baena and Alison Brie previously collaborated on Horse Girl together, which Brie starred in and co-wrote with Baena, who directed. Brie also appeared in Baena’s The Little Hours and Joshy. This raucous comedy also features Molly Shannon, Zach Woods, Aubrey Plaza, Fred Armisen, Alessandro Nivola and Tim Heidecker. https://www.gablescinema.com/events/spin-me-round/ |

New Beginnings — Frost Symphony Orchestra
The season opening concert of the Frost Symphony Orchestra features three faculty members of the Frost School of Music. With Solace, composed for Gerard Schwarz and the Frost Symphony Orchestra, Charles Mason adds an element of peacefulness or solace to his characteristic frenetic and rhythmically-driven style. Paul Schoenfeld is a living American composer known to combine popular and folk music with classical forms. Jennifer Grim and Frank Ragsdale are soloists for Schoenfeld’s Klezmer Rondos, which invokes the spirit and culture of European Klezmer music. The program concludes with Johannes Brahms’ C minor symphony, sometimes jokingly dubbed as "Beethoven's Tenth." Brahms took over twenty years to complete what is truly a masterwork of the repertoire. The Talented Mr. Ripley
