Spring Equinox

On March 21, the sun's path crossed the celestial equator from south to north. The Spring Equinox represents the time of year when the hours of day and night are equal.

On Thursday, March 23, Ramadan, a month of fasting, begins on the Muslim calendar.

Thursday, March 24, the Sunday before Easter, is Palm Sunday on the Christian calendar.

Monday, March 25 is Holi, the Hindu festival of colors celebrated on the last full moon in the lunar month of Phalguna, a festival of colors and love that ushers in spring.

On Wednesday, March 29, we celebrate National Vietnam War Veterans Day, which became an annual event in 2017 when President Trump signed the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017.

Monday, April 1 is April Fools Day, traditionally, an opportunity for playing jokes or tricks on one another.

As always, make plans to enjoy the great outdoors in our little city. Walk down Miracle Mile, experience the live theatre and the best movies, browse the book stores, look into the art galleries and meet up with friends at the restaurants -- including restaurant row in the 100 block of Giralda. Visit the parks and public spaces to appreciate the bounties of nature.

Enjoy the best of Coral Gables in the coming days.
