Saturday, October 19, the third Saturday of the month, is the Sweetest Day, a chance to share romantic deeds or expressions, and acts of charity and kindness.
Sunday, October 20 is Brandied Fruit Day, celebrating sweet-tasting fruit, soaked and marinated in brandy. And also, let's drink the fruity brandy.
Thursday, October 24 is Bologna Day, because... no one really knows.
Saturday, October 26 is Howl at the Moon Night, a warm-up for upcoming Halloween festivities, although the crescent moon will not rise above the horizon until 2:25am.
Sunday, October 27 is American Beer Day, so it seems rather obvious to enjoy some finely crafted American brew with friends.
Thursday, October 31 is Halloween, a time for costumes, spooky pumpkins, haunted houses, graveyard scenes, wicked decorations and neighborhood events for children. The traditional "trick or treat" involves payment of some form of treat, while the trick refers to an idle threat to perform mischief on the property.
Sunday, November 3 -- Daylight Saving Time Ends on the first Sunday in November at 2am. Fall back one hour. |
