Saturday, October 26 is Howl at the Moon Night, a warm-up for upcoming Halloween festivities, although the crescent moon will not rise above the horizon until 2:25am.
Sunday, October 27 is American Beer Day, so it seems rather obvious to enjoy some finely crafted American brew with friends.
Thursday, October 31 is Halloween, a time for costumes, spooky pumpkins, haunted houses, graveyard scenes, wicked decorations and neighborhood events for children. The traditional "trick or treat" involves payment of some form of treat, while the trick refers to an idle threat to perform mischief on the property.
November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people.
Friday, November 1 is All Saints Day, a Christian holiday honoring all of the saints, many of which were martyrs. All Saints Day and All Souls Day was originally celebrated in May. They were moved to November 1 and November 2, to downplay the Pagan holidays of Halloween (All Hallow’s Eve) and Dia De Los Muertos.
Sunday, November 3 -- Daylight Saving Time Ends on the first Sunday in November at 2am. Fall back one hour. |
